Smith axed as Australia name T20 World Cup squad

Previous skipper Steve Smith and rising ability Jake Fraser-McGurk were outstanding oversights as Australia named their T20 World Cup crew on Wednesday.
All-rounder Mitchell Bog will commander the side, while veteran opening batsman David Warner has been picked for what is molding as his last global competition.
"Mitchell has been a commendable player and pioneer inside the gathering for an extensive stretch," said Cricket Australia seat Mike Baird.
Test captain Pat Cummins, paceman Mitchell Starc, and touchy batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell are among the accomplished players in the 15-man crew, with 11 having partaken in the 2021 T20 World Cup-winning effort.
Selector George Bailey said there had been "meaningful discussions" about whether to remember supernatural batsman Smith for the side, following a dunk in his restricted overs structure.
Bailey said selectors would watch out for the 22-year-old Fraser-McGurk, who has been in widespread batting structure for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Chief Association.
"At last the equilibrium of the last 15 requirements to give the most obvious opportunity with regards to finding success in this mission," Bailey said.
The Twenty20 World Cup will be played in the US and West Indies in June.
